Rustam Minnikhanov meets Head of Main Directorate for Road Traffic Safety of Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Mikhail Chernikov

On July 7, at their meeting in Kazan, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Mikhail Chernikov discussed priority areas in creating conditions for comfortable and safe road traffic, touched on the issue of high-quality and modern highways, and effective mechanisms for preventing road accidents.

During his two-day working visit to the capital of the republic, Police Major General Chernikov got acquainted with the organization of work to ensure safety traffic in Tatarstan, and material and technical facilities of the local ministry.

Besides, Chernikov held a meeting on road safety, which was attended by Minister of Internal Affairs of the republic Artem Khokhhorin and Head of Tatarstan Department of the Main Directorate for Road Traffic Safety of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Lenar Gabdurakhmanov.

During the meeting, Chernikov noted that due to the implementation of federal targeted programmes on improving road safety, the number of people killed in road accidents has significantly reduced.

Chernikov said that in general the road safety situation in Tatarstan is stable and appreciated the activities of the regional traffic police.
