Rustam Minnikhanov takes part in the opening of the first stage of reconstructed biological treatment facilities of Nizhnekamskneftekhim Petrochemical Company

On April 5, during his working visit to Nizhnekamsk,Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the reopening of the unit for mechanical treatment of utility fluids after the completion of the first stage of the reconstruction of biological treatment facilities of Nizhnekamskneftekhim Petrochemical Company.

The mechanical treatment unit was launched in 1966. About 79 per cent of incoming liquid wastes are industrial, 21 per cent are municipal. The previous reconstruction took place in 1980, which allowed increasing the complex capacity four times up to 213,000 cubic meters per day.

The current reconstruction was caused by stricter requirements for the level of wastewater treatment. To date, the first stage of works has been completed.

During the second stage of the reconstruction of biological treatment facilities a unit for the mechanical treatment of chemically contaminated effluents will be updated.

In 2018, it is planned to start construction of a new collector for industrial wastewater. The length of the collector will be 13 km, it will connect the industrial site and treatment facilities. The collector will be located at a sufficient distance from the settlements.
