On May 15 Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov met with Director of macro-regional branch “Volga” OAO “Rostelecom” Dmitry Proskura at Tatarstan Government House. Tatarstan Minister of Information and Communication Roman Shaikhutdinov and Aide to Tatarstan President on economic issues Airat Khairullin took part in the meeting.

On May 15 at an annual general meeting of Tatarstan Academy of Sciences President of the Academy Akhmet Mazgarov presented the Golden medal of Tatarstan Academy of Sciences to Tatarstan State Counselor Mintimer Shaimiev for great personal contribution to science development in Tatarstan.

Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov has met with Chairman of the Commission on Ecosystem Management of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature Piet Wit and professor of Estonian University of social studies Kalev Sepp.

At their meeting in Kazan today Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Deputy Board Chairman of Sberbank of Russia Igor Artamonov discussed implementation of current projects and prospective areas of cooperation.

Construction of Ford Sollers Motor Plant started at SEZ “Alabuga” today. Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov, OAO “Sollers” Director General Vadim Shvetsov, Ford Motor Company CEO Mark Fields, Ford Sollers President Ted Cannis, Ford Sollers CEO Adil Shirinov, head of Elabuga region Gennady Emelyanov took part in the event.

On May 14 at his meeting with a delegation of Bursa province led by the Governor Shahabettin Harput Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that Tatarstan is interested in cooperation with Bursa in automotive components production, light industry, health care, culture and education.

Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov met with members of Tatarstan team – winners of first Russian Championship WorldSkills Russia-2013. To the point, 14 students from Tatarstan recently took part in the championship in Samara. Four of them took medal places.
