Rustam Minnikhanov meets with representatives of Tatarstan metropolia of Russian Orthodox Church

On January 10 Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov met with representatives of Tatarstan metropolia of Russian Orthodox Church at the Administration building of Tatarstan metropolia and Kazan Eparchy. The event was held in the framework of Christmas holidays.
Rustam Minnikhanov looked around the reconstructed Administration building of Tatarstan metropolia and Kazan Eparchy. Head of Tatarstan metropolia Metropolitan of Kazan and Tatarstan Anastasy briefly told about repair and reconstruction works. With the total repaired areas of 2800 m² the complex includes temple and administrative sections, an auditorium, classrooms, living blocks for students, a kitchen and dining room.
Tatarstan President started the meeting by congratulating representatives of Tatarstan metropolia of Russian Orthodox Church on Christmas. Issues related to the role of the church in society, preservation and development of Orthodox culture, education of young people and preparation of church officers were raised at the meeting. Metropolitan of Kazan and Tatarstan Anastasy thanked Tatarstan President for his help to Kazan Theological Seminary. He also noted that today Kazan Theological Seminary ranks sixth among universities for church officers.
Then, Rustam Minnikanov and Metropolitan discussed the issue on construction of a gym for students of the Theological Seminary. Tatarstan President also offered to hold a general meeting of church officers of Tatarstan metropolia with participation of head of municipalities to discuss current issues in the near future.
Rustam Minnikhanov also reminded that all temples suffered from arson attacks over the last few months in the republic will be restored.
At the end of the meeting Rustam Minnikhanov presented Ford minivan to Tatarstan metropolia.

In his address on the occasion of the Russian Science Day, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated scientists, researchers and lecturers of the republic with the event and wrote: “Science has always been and remains one of the main driving forces of progress and foundation for the development of economy, social sphere and education. On February 3, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in a ceremony of opening XXI All-Russia competitions in fire-rescue sports for the Cup of the Tatarstan Prime Minister, held in the gym of the Chief Department of the Russian Emergencies Ministry for Tatarstan with participation of 21 teams from various regions of Russia - a total of about 430 people.
On 31 January, speaking at a meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with participation of the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and all municipality regions taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Deputy Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Damir Shaydullin reported that capital overhaul of nine school in eight municipalities of the republic has started.
On 28 January Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in an extended joint meeting of the Main Directorate of Russian Emergencies Ministry for Tatarstan and a collegium of the Ministry for Civil Defense, Emergency Management and Natural Disaster Response of the republic which summarized results of work of the territorial subsystem of the unified state system for the prevention and elimination of emergency situations of the republic in 2025 and set tasks for 2026.
In his keyword report the Head of the Main Directorate Irek Kadamov informed that there were 3 758 man-caused fires in the republic which killed 128 people and injured 177. Through joint efforts, we have managed to reduce the number of man-caused fires by more than 10%, the number of injured by 12 per cent, however the number of killed increased by 13 people, he said.
