On May 21, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov accompanied by Minister of Culture of the republic Airat Sibagatullin and Head of Laishevo municipal region Mikhail Afanasyev took part in the 25th Russian folk art festival "Karavon" in the village of Nikolskoye (Laishevo municipal region of Tatarstan).

It goes back to centuries and originates from khorovod, round dances that were held on the threshold of the Day of St Nicholas the Wonderworker in Russkoe Nikolskoe village. Nowadays this holiday has revived, preserving unique features of traditional song and dance creative activities.

On May 19, on the Day of Press of the Republic of Tatarstan, the results of the 20th contest in the sphere of journalism and mass media of the republic "Bellur Kalam" - "Crystal Pen" were summed up at the Piramida Entertainment Complex. About 700 people took part in the event.
On May 19, the reburial of Kazan khans Mahmud and Muhammed-Emin and two members of their families was held near the Kazan Kremlin. Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and State Counsellor of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev took part in the event.
On May 19, at the Kamal Tatar State Academic Theatre, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the plenary session of the eighth All-Russian Forum of Tatar Religious Figures.
