On March 19, at his interview to NHK (a Japanese TV and radio company) Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov noted that the spectrum of potential cooperation between Japan and Tatarstan is extremely wide and diverse.

On March 19 Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov arrived in Tokyo (Japan) with a two-day working visit to take part in the 6th Russia-Japan Investment Forum that is dedicated to “Opening new areas for investment cooperation between Russia and Japan”.
On March 19 Russian Deputy Minister of Energy Anton Inyutsyn, Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Khamza Bagmanov, Rector of Kazan State Power Engineering University Edward Abdullazyanov visited the Centre of competence and energy-saving technologies at Kazan State Power Engineering University, a platform for developing state-of-the-art energy-saving technologies.
On March 18, at a briefing at Tatarstan Government House, it was reported that in worst-case scenario 216 settlements in 42 municipalities (6,910 houses and 18,846 people) may be affected by spring flooding in Tatarstan. Moreover, 75.3km of motor roads, 36 road bridges, 48 socially important and 27 economic facilities may be affected as well. There are no oil, gas and product pipelines, as well as animal burial sites in the possible flood zone.

On March 18 at a briefing at RT Government House on development of relations between Tatarstan and Crimea in the sphere of tourism and children’s holidays, Head of Tatarstan Tourism Agency Sergey Ivanov said that 5.9 million tourists, including 2.3 million Russian tourists, visited Crimea in 2013. There are 800 health and recreation centres in Crimea, he noted.
